Well Spring Break in Cozumel is still in full swing even though the month of March is almost coming to an end.  Although March is coming to an end soon Vacations in Cozumel Cozumel Excursionsaare sure to see a bit of an influx of guests as all the fellow Paisanos begin Holy Week in preparation for Easter Weekend!  Yes it’s true now is officially vacation time here in Mexico for all locals this week as Monday Holy Week begins.

Holy Week in Mexico is a Catholic cultural tradition which officially is the last week of the 40 day lent period.  It begins with Palm Sunday and includes other special days including Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday.  This is an especially busy time as spring break in Cozumel is just beginning to wind down.  Hotels are expected to go over 90% in occupation as Mexicans come from all of the Republic of Mexico for some good Holy Week fun in the sun.

I don’t know about everybody else but March is definitely one of my favorite months in the year!  There is so much going on everywhere it seems and well here in Cozumel that is no exception.  Whats going on in March in Cozumel well besides it being the busiest month of the year for everyone here on the island for families it means some time for a quick family vacation to Cozumel.  While this holds true it is especially a great month for College students.  For me there were always 2 things happening in March that were something that I always looked forward to and still do, March Madness and Spring Break!

Even if you aren’t a big basketball fan if you are a college student there is a good chance you have some school spirit,(also its a good reason to party) and due to this March Madness has become one of the most watched sporting events on TV.  Especially the Final FourSpring Break in Cozumel and the NCAA Championship game which may even be more watched than the Super Bowl.  Now Spring break or better yet Spring Break in Cozumel doesn’t mean that you necessarily need to forget your school spirit or miss out on the games.  One of the great things about Cozumel(well for me anyway) is that due to mass amount of tourism and all the revenue that it generates the locals understand that the tourists want to visit without missing out on some things from home.  This being the case the are plenty of great places to catch the fun and excitement of March Madness.  Some of these include: Margaritaville, the new Hooters, The French Quarter, Hard Rock Cafe and many other great places to catch the game.  Those will definitely be lively and fun so if you need to catch a game or some games during March Madness they will definitely be places to see the game.
